Running simple code to open and reformat existing spreadsheet.
Running on Windows XP / Office 2000.

Get following error every 2-3 times running code. (Does not happen every time!! and only happens on certain PC's, not all):

Run-time error '-2147417848 (80010108):
Automation Error
The object invoked has disconnected from its clients.

Apparently this is common problem. Has anyone had any experience with this? Apparently Windows 2000 Service Pack 2 Com+ Rollup HotFix 11 was to address this but apparently with mixed results. Any comment?
Thanks

You posted your message a long time ago and have probably fixed the problem (or scrapped your program!). But I had the same problem yesterday, and I think I found a fix for it on another forum and haven't had any problems since. The problem comes from having an old version of a small file in your WINNT\SYSTEM 32 folder.

To fix it:
1) Delete the old version of MSCAL.OCX (8/24/2000) from C:\WINNT\SYSTEM 32 (the file is about 88 KB)
2) Copy MSCAL.OCX (2/2/2001) from C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10 and paste it into c:\WINNT\SYSTEM 32 (the new file is around 103KB).

That should do it. Hope this helps anyone with this problem.

I need to add to my post above. I am still having the problem, so it looks like this didn't fix it for me. But I do know it has worked for others, but you have to make sure that the version of MSCAL.OCX you install in your System 32 folder is correct for the version of Windows you are using. If you are on XP, you need version 10. If you or on 2000 or NT, version 9 is the one you want.
Again, I don't know if this will be helpful, but I wanted to include it.
