Automating replicas? Possible?

Right now, the company database has 2 copies: 1 networked version, and a replicated one used on laptops when away from the office. Is it possible to make the 2 versions automatically synchronize when his laptop is plugged back into the network, like the WinXP sync, but amalgamating rather then overwriting?
