Hi,
I have found utilities that allow me to automatically extract and download attachments from Eudora or Thunderbird. Trouble is that the category/name to associate with the .CSV attachment is in the body of the email. Since these emails are sent to us and other organizations/companies automatically, it is unlikely that they would make a change for us. All the emails from this vendor use the same attachment name. I thought that I could determine the actual file name from the data inside (using MS-Access to view it as a linked table), but there is no unique identifier. The files are sent to different users depending on whether it is, for example: BN, SOE, MD, etc. Any ideas on how I can get at the filename that is contained within the body text of the email and autmatically rename the csv attachment with it?
Example email...
------------------------
Subj:
3 More Inquires 01/18/2007
Body:
Inquiries for SOE
On 1/18/2007 3 more inquiries were generated.
Attachment:
inquiries.csv
-------------------------
The email extractors saves these csv's locally and increments them:
inquiries.csv
inquiries1.csv
inquiries2.csv
Without going back and manually reading each email, can I pull out the relevant name (in example above, that would be SOE). Perhaps we could then name the file as follows:
SOE_inquiries.csv
SOE_inquiries1.csv
BN_inquiries2.csv
ED_inquiries3.csv
