Automating Product Photos...

I make literally hundreds of product photo's per year. What I need is a way to automate the whole process of taking the picture data and getting it into a file directory cropped and saved as a .gif file with transparent background. I actually would love to have each photo sized as Large, Medium, and Thumbnail while I'm at it.

Can Photoshop automate all these tasks in an ACTION?

Can Photoshop automate the file naming for each size of the same picture? ie. BLUESHIRT_LRG.GIF, BLUESHIRT_MED.GIF, BLUESHIRT_SML.GIF

Does anyone know of any websites that might touch on the whole subject of automating the editing process of product photo's for use on the web?

Actions will do some parts, I doubt that the file nameing piece can be addressed from Photoshop but there may be other methods to rename if they can can be identified as a small,med or large size.
