I have a NIM master and number of clients. The clients are known to the NIM master as "standalone" machines. I have also created a "mksysb" resource which allows me to take a mksysb image of a client and place it in a predefined location on the NIM master.

How do I now use this resource and automate future mksysb image backups of the clients on the master?

Thanks

The simplest method is one I use on a regular basis.

1 - Create a filesystem on the NIM master and NFS export this to all the standalone servers

2 - NFS mount the filesystem from the NIM master to the standalone servers (this can be a perm mount or done as part of the backup script)

3 - Issue the command mksysb -i /<nfs mount point>/server.$DATE on each standalone server

To automate bundle steps 2 and 3 into a script and trigger via cron
