I am trying to create an automated integration process within the Sales Order Module of GP. I was going to use the SQL Optimizer, but apparantly I cannot because we have the inventory bins option enabled within our system and that is not supported by SQL Optimizer.

I want to make this process completely automated, so I was wondering if there was a good technique to actually log into GP through code or a program. I thought about using some sort of send-keys functionality, but thought that would be very messy and am not too familiar with it. Is there anyone out there that has worked with this?

Any feedback would be appreciated!

Thanks

You can do this via a command line. If you locate the IM user guide, go to page 127. It tells you how to create a macro to log into GP. You basically setup a scheduled task on the workstation (Win 2K?), get it to log into GP, enter user ID and password then open company. There is another scheduled task that runs the integration via a command line. You can also add a vb script to the integration to have it close GP when the integration completes (there are some known issues with it and you may have to check the TK articles).

Hope this helps!
