Automating FTP command 1

I wrote a program to automatically ftp to a server.

When I do "mget", I have no problem getting all the files in the directory. But when I issued "mdelete *", it deleted only a few files. Any idea what is going on?

check the permisssions on the files and the parent directory of these files.
Infact .netrc file also should have correct permissions (600) and correct
ownership to cause ftp command to work properly.
