Hi,

I was thinking about a way that would allow me to write a batch file that performs an automated restore of repairdisk ( which is the clients ERD ) to a specified folder.

Basicly, Im sick of updating the floppy, and would like to have Networker do it for me. Is anyone out there doing this ? suggestions comments ...

Creating the ERD, unless you choose the "Update" option in RDISK, doesn't do anything but dump the contents of
c:\winnt\repair to a diskette. I don't believe (not sure, though) that Networker actually goes through the update process before creating the REPAIRDISK saveset.

Remember, that by using a "Directed Recover" you can get the REPAIRDISK saveset restored even if the original server is down. Simply restore it to another machine. This way you can created the ERD when you need it...

Voyager1 is correct. Plus, you have to go through and do an "rdisk /s" on the workstations anyway. The "/s" saves security information. If rdisk is not run regularly at the workstation, the repair folder will be out of date, useless.

Secondly, you don't need the diskettes. There is an option when you use the setup disks, or choose the "L" option to use the info directly from the repair folder.
