How would I go about setting a users preferences so that when they go into outlook the settings will be set based on their domain login account?

(For example, when john logins into any machine in the domain, his outlook settings will be setup with his email address and the email servers he uses.)

Thanks in Advance.

Hi utoyo,

You need to set up a roaming profiles for the users.
MS Outlook profile is stored within the user’s profile. Roaming profile will load the same settings no matter which machine you’re logging onto as long as you use the domain account.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Michael

Here's a solution that's cheaper than profilemaker and more reliable than roaming profiles: Office Resource Kit.

Download for free from microsoft. Setup a maintenance package with the Custom Maintenance Wizard and add it to your logon script. Steps 12 through 17 allow you to fully customize outlook. Use the standard %username% as your username variable for the new profile. (on step 14 be sure to add the "Outlook Address Book" feature so that users can see their contacts list when they click on the "To:" button)

Every time a user logs in to a station they've never touched before, Outlook will automatically generate a profile for them.

Good Luck!
