automating email response

Hi All,
I am trying to automate a process in outlook 2010. Basically I look after a mailbox and I want some way to assign an email to an individual (which would send the email to them) while at the same time replying to original email with a "your email has been assigned to... blah blah blah.)just wondering any of you have done this already?

I've done it using a set of rules from the quick steps option :)
