Automaticlly move email attachments to Network folder

Is there a way to automatically move email attachments to a netwwork share? What we would like to do is have our customers email us a csv or xlsx file, have that attachment automatically move to a network share. We will then write an application that will check the network share, and extract the information so that we can dump in to a database. Just need to figure out how to move the attachments to a network share without manual intervention.
 
Not sure if this can be done, if not you could script FTP to do this.

But you'd have to have Outlook open all of the time, parsing would be a nightmare...

Why not just have them upload it via FTP?
 
If you look into the Exchange/SharePoint integration you'll find that the mechanism involves having Exchange route the mail to a a separate SMTP server instance that saves files to a "drop" directory where a timed SharePoint task picks up the email and saves the attachment into a SharePoint library (which can be accessed directly with a file path).


Since even the basic free SharePoint can do that, it may be a viable solution for you.
