Hello.

I am very new to Access and databases.

I have several tables: Employee, Product and Orders for keeping track on who ordered what inventory (Products).

What I would like to do is create a form that will do the following:

1. Have a drop down menu to select a product a person would want to order
2. Once product is selected, it will display product description and quantity available (all that data is in the Products table)
3. A user will enter a quantity he/she wants to order
4. An order table will be updated to record the order placed
5. Quantity of product in the Product table will be updated to reflect quantity of product ordered.

If somebody can help me, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

michael

No - I don't think this site is about creating an app more or less from scratch, but more helping when a problem occurs.

#5 - no - you don't do that, if you value your spare time, don't like headaches, you calculate on the fly whenever this is needed - more info here Inventory Control: Quantity on Hand

If you are new to database, then you probably wish to read something like this article by Paul Litwin Fundamentals of Relational Database Design.

And - to get the most out of the membership here, probably faq181-2886 can be recommended too.
