Hi,

We are using CE 10.0, CR 10.0, Oracle 8i.

I have to set up few report jobs to print to printer automatically.

I did try that and getting the following error:

The request could not be submitted for background processing. File D:\Program Files\Crystal Decisions\Enterprise 10\Data\procSched\crystal-Server.reportjobserver\~ce25ec46905ae4ca2.rpt

I have set the printer name as full path like this:
\\prncluster\printer0447

When I run the reports from CE Server, I am getting above error.

Printer path is correct as I have verified it both from my workstation as well as server and I am able to print other documents from both my workstation and CE Server.

My questions is, Do I need to do anything before I can implement this printing automatically from CE Server.

Thx,

Could be that the user that the CE services (during install) were created under doesn't have permission to use that printer, otherwise it looks OK to me.

Thanks synapsevampire,

Our Server Admin did create service level account with specifically granted access to the printer. I change the Report Job Server to run under this account.

Now I am getting this error message:
Info Server cannot access the specified printer

I am stumped....Any ideas what else to try.

Has the printer been "installed" on the server that's running your Report Job Server? Just having access to the printer over the network is sometimes not enough. The server has to know about the printer and which printer drivers to use in order to be able to print to it.

A computer only does what you actually told it to do - not what you thought you told it to do.

Yes, printer is already installed on the server.

If you login to the server under the account that is running the Report Job Server (service) - do you see the printer...? Can you print a TEST PAGE successfully...?

Yes, I can print the test page successfully from the server.
