I have been developing a drawing, and adding stencils as I go. Until recently, whenever I opened the drawing, the associated stencils (which I created and saved in a subfolder as I created the drawing) would open automatically with the drawing. Now, when I open the drawing, all I get on the left are the Shapes panel, including the “Search for Shapes” box, and the “Don’t know how to get started?” tips. I am able to open the stencils using the file menu, but I would like for them to open automatically with the drawing.

I noticed a tip in another post instructing to open the drawing, open the stencils to be used with the drawing, and save. I have tried this and it doesn’t seem to work. Also, in testing, when I saved the drawing and stencils to a CD (during the time when the stencils opened correctly with the drawing), then opened the CD on another computer with Visio loaded, the stencils opened with the drawing. Now, with the drawing contained on a new CD, and opened on the 2nd computer, the stencils will not open with the drawing.

Any ideas how to make the stencils open automatically with the drawing again?
