Automatically name media on format?

I've set up a job to run daily and have chosen media option "Overwrite same media name, or blank media first, then any media." When it overwrites "any media" Arcserve first formats the media. Is there a way to specify what the media name should be? Ideally I'd like to append the date to the media name, e.g. Jobname-9-27-02, or something similar. This job doesn't use a rotation scheme, such as GFS. I'm using AS2000AE on a WinNT box.

For a non-rotation backup job, ARCserve will only label a tape if it is blank (by doing a Quick Erase Plus). It uses a date/time stamp as the label.

You could try setting up a simple rotation (non-GFS). You can then set a static label for each DOW.
