Server 2003 - Clients Windows XP SP2

I have a 2003 server that is a domain controller, file server, DNS and DHCP. I have my AD structure set out and users added to it. I will be running mandatory profiles.

I want each user to have a network drive mapped automatically when they log in. Only that user, plus administrators should have access to it. On top of that I want all users to have access to a shared network drive which is also automatically mapped when they log in.

I have no idea how to start doing this. Please help. Will I need to create each share for every user in AD or is there an easier way? Thanks in advance - Newbie

Ok, What about the network shares? How do I set those up?

Setting up the shares on the server or for the users?

Hi

From the AD you can assign a logon script to each user one by one, or you can assign a logon script with a Group Policy Object, and through that all users will have the script.

A very good script can be found here somewhere let me dig it up. It was written by a member of this forum, and I am using it in 3 or 4 of our offices already, and works like a charm.

I found the link, see above. Credit goes to Markdmac.

Cheers

Ben
