Each morning I receive data in a standard .txt file, which I run through a stand alone visual basic program and export to a standard file. The exported file is given the days date ie 02_DECEMBER_2003.

I need a method of automatically importing these files into Microsoft Access each day as they appear in the file. Does anyone have a method that i can use?

Regards

Do you want to import from within your stand alone VB program or Access (VBA)? I am in a similar situation but I receive the file in .csv format which is easy to import.

Access preferably, I was thinking i could do something with timers, get access to look in the file at a given time of the day and pick up the file with the days date.........just a working thought.

Also the format of the file can be altered to .csv easily enough from vb.

If you are importing from access using vba check DoCmd.TransferText routine in help. This will basically import the whole file automatically. I am afraid I cannot help you with the timer stuff though.
