Automatically format foreign Media in ARCServe

Does anyone know of a registry change that allows ARCserve 6.5 to automatically re-format a tape that was originally formatted on another application (eg backup exec).

I know that Backup exec can be changed to reformat ARCserve tapes, but does such a fix exist for ARCserve to do the same?

Man, I have trouble making it overwrite an old ARCserve (same version) tape every time, so I do not even dream it would overwrite other formats.
