automatically delete white lines between paragraphs possible?

Hi, another question.
I've got an old book about Indesign CS and it says that on the import text window you can choose to delete extra white lines at the end of paragraphs and/or between paragraphs. Is this option in CS3 still available somewhere? At the moment I solve this by search-and-replacing ^p^p with ^p, which sounds a bit crude to me.

In CS3

Do a find and replace

but use grep

In the drop down menu there are presaved finds and replace, multiple paragraph to single, remove trailing white space, etc.
