Automatically call a connection

Hi!

I use an app which access a server trough dial-up.

My modem is not up all the time.

When the app the servertry to access I want the right conection to be called automaticaly.

How can I do that?

Does the app talk to the server via IP or is it an protocol specfic to the app? If it is the latter, I suspect that the app wil need additional configuration.

If the the app is making IP calls, and is the only app that uses an IP connection, (eg no internet or email is used on that PC) then the PC can be configured to route the IP request to a modem; (using the IE 'options' menu 'Connections' section.)

However if there are other IP apps on the workstation, installing some sort of Gateway on the network would probably be the best way to go.
