communication manager 8.1, is there a way for a station to be able to bridge/conference/observe onto a 911 call as it is in progress? crisis alert just notifies, but would be nice if they could press a button and be connected to the call as well. thanks!

Yes, please check this.

Yes. Enable SA8654 - Crisis Alert Call Monitoring and Recording on your CM. This will allow monitoring of the call. "Change system-parameters special" to get to the form.
Here is the description for SA8654:
Current Communication Manager has the capability of providing emergency alert signal and display messages to designated terminals (attendant consoles & stations) when an emergency call is made from any station. However, the alerted terminals have no capability to monitor the conversation and/or record of such emergency calls.

SA8654 will enhance the standard Communication Manager software to have the capability of monitoring and/or recording such emergency calls with single button push from the designated station terminals. Please note: the SA8654 capability is NOT available for the attendant consoles. The capability is provided via implicit integration with barge-in capabilities from existing Communication Manager feature (e.g. Service Observing) for call monitoring and explicit integration with the Audix One-Step recording feature for call recording. In addition, new display messages will be provided to show the status (e.g. call is monitored by other stations etc.) of the emergency call.

Thanks JefferP. once the feature in enabled, how does the feature work? do the phones just need a crisis alert button, and a cor that allows them to be a service observer? then, they press the crisis alert button to barge onto the call? i tried searching the sa code, but didnt find anything more than you stated.

Thanks

You do not need to make any COR changes. Once the SA is enabled, the crss-alert button will have an additional field called 'Mntr Opt' to populate when you assign it to a button. The choices are Listen and none. If you assign listen, an additional press of the crss-alert button will service observe the 911 call in listen-only mode.
