Automatically adjust resolution

I have an appliation that requires the resolution to be 1024 X 768, but the customer does not want to use that for other apps, they insist on keeping the desktop at 800X600. Is there a way to have the resolution automatically adjust when this app is run, or is there a product that can do this.
