We have a number of sites in our network. Our regions are configured to use G.711 locally, and G.729 with other regions. We have h.323 gateways with autoattendant applications hosted on the router. The greetings are recorded in G.711 and we would like to keep a single recording to keep things simple. Most calls come in from the PSTN, but occasionally a user will want to dial the application from a Cisco phone to access the dial-by-name directory or check the menu options. Local users are no problem; they are talking G.711. If someone from another region calls, the call fails because it is limited to G.729.
Any suggestions on a good scalable workaround?
Thanks!
