How can i start an nsrck -MX at a specific time. Networker starts the nsrck always at the same time when backups should start and i get an error message, that the media database could not contacted. Can i influence the starttime of nsrck?

Thank in advance
Marco

Of course you may run nsrck at any time. However, i doubt that this will solve your problem.

If what you describe would be normal, then NW obviously would never operate normally.

Also, i think that you cannot suppress NW to run nsrck automatically
(which of course should not be possible).

I think there is another problem with your databases. The log files should tell you more.

If you mean NetWorker's execution of "nsrim -X" then you can determine when that runs. This is what ends up kicking off the "nsrck -MX" for each client.

NetWorker runs this every 24 hours based on the timestamp of the file /nsr/mm/nsrim.prv

Just create a script that does a touch of /nsr/mm/nsrim.prv to update the timestamp and then runs "nsrim -X". You can run it when you want to (I schedule in cron at 7:45am).

This should solve your issue.
