Automatic reduction of acrobat version while scanning

I was wondering if it would be possible to set up acrobat so that when I scan a document, it would automatically be reduced from version 7 to version 4?

I have to do this due to compatibility issues, and it would be easier to have an auto setting rather than going to File=>Reduce File Size for hundreds of docs. Remember, it has to be reduced to version 4. The size of the document is not what is important here.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Go to Advanced menu/Acrobat Distiller and launch distiller.

Go to Settings menu and select Edit or Add. Make Compatibility what you need and make any other settings. Name and save the setting.

Then on the main Distiller window choose what you made as the Default on the drop down menu.

All new pdfs will match that setting unless you change it.
