Hi, does anyone know of a way to automatically delete dead messages in the job queue. The problem is I need to set it up to automatically delete them. I'm going on vacation and no one has any idea how to take care of that server. I wasn't sure if they are purged after a few days, or if it's ok to leave them in there until I get back. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

Two ways that come to my mind:

1/
Set the replication cut-off date to 2 days for example.
Procedure:
Open the mail.box and select File->Replication->Settings
Then look for the option "Remove documents not modified after.... days".
Even if the database will not replicate it will still delete the messages that have not been modified.
Make sure you set the number of days larger then your retry-time (if you retry 2 days before generating a delivery failure, then set it to 3 days).

2/
Modify the design of the mail.box database and add an agent.
In this agent you will need to define the selection criteria and then delete the documents. Schedule this agent during the night time. make sure you test this one first so no other e-mails get deleted!

Kind regards,

Hi, thanks for the info. Let me make sure I did this right. I went into mail.box, file, replication settings, under space savers tab, I checked "remove documents not modified in the last" and I put two days. That box was not originally checked. Does that sound right? I hope it is. It really was too simple but I'm hoping it'll take care of my problem.

Thanks
Kathy
