Automatic Line Selection

On CUCM:

1. When going off hook to make an outbound call, is it possible to specify which line automatically gets selected on a phone that has shared line appearances, or is the primary extension of the phone the only line that can be selected?

2. Is it possible to specify which line on a phone with shared line appearances automatically gets selected when the "Click to Call" application or a third party equivalent application is used?

The prime line is always the one selected as the one providing dial tone. There is no way to select another line besides user intervention.
If that is an issue rearrange the line that needs to be dialing out as the prime line instead.

What do you mean by click to call? using the outlook plug in?

As far as third party goes it would be up to the third party app to select the line I suppose.

Thanks for the answer.

By "click to call" I meant being able to click on a phone number on a Web page or MS Office application and having it automatically dialed via the phone. I didn't expect the answer to be different from the case of going off hook directly at at the phone, but I just wanted to be certain - an app might have more control.
