Hello all!
I'm trying to cleanly configure my new HP ThinClient t5700 for our users.
What I want to achieve is that when my users log on to WinXPe, they get automatically also logged on to our Citrix Published Desktop. For what concerns the "Pass-through authentication", I got it working. The *real* trouble is getting the "shortcut" in the "Startup" menu item to be fully functional for *every* user that wants to connect, which I was thinking should be done in the "All Users" *AND* in the "Default User" profile.

Can anybody help me setting things up?

Regards, Flavio.

I would just put it in the "All Users" one

I did this thing, but:
a) wouldn't it also be useful to put it into "Default User" folder?
b) I get an error, telling me that ICA Client can't find the 'desktop' entry (desktop is the name of my published desktop) in the C:\Documents and Settings\rmallone\Application Data\ICAClient\APPSRV.INI.

Other tips?

Thanks...

a)mmmm that would only be for new profiles being created when they would get it from All Users anyway.

b) I think you would have to create APPSRV.INI file and put it in everyones ICACLIENT folder. You could do this in the login script of course.

PS I have not done this before so I am only going by what I would try if I were faced with this scenario.

[afterthought] Create an ICA file and use this to launch desktop[/afterthought]

a) so you're telling me that in fact it should be sufficient to put it into "All Users" startup folder, right?
b) I can't achieve this step, because I don't know in advance *who* is gonna connect through *this* HP ThinClient, thus no user folder is already there. What do you suggest furthermore?

About your afterthought: what's this about? Can you explain?

Thanks...

a) Yes that is what I would do.
B) ok

afterthought. When you publish the desktop, if your right click on it in CMC then it gives you the option of creating HTML & ICA files. You can then launch these ICA files. (I think). Give it a try.

a) just one last thing: it doesn't however disturb if it's in both profiles, right?

afterthought: Do I have to create the ICA File on the Citrix Server (from the CMC) and then copy it on my ThinClient? Or is there any other way to start it up?

Again, many thanks.
Regards,
Flavio.

a) no it won't cause a problem.

afterthought yes copy it or make it available from a network share as a shortcut

Hy there, I'm back again.
Now, I created an ICA file, but I can't achieve one thing (te first one, but I also hope it'll be the *only* one!): when I double-click dhe ICA file, the published desktop starts in a window. I don't want it to behave like that. Instead, I want it to be the new desktop for my terminal client users, and I guess I should set it "Full Screen", right? Well on the server side the published desktop is actually configured as "Full Screen" and "16 bit". Here my ICA file, can you tell me where I'm missing/wrong?

Thanks again!
