Can anyone tell me how to set older HP printers to automatically add a carriage return to all line feeds.

Our Laserjet 4000N has a configuration setting for this, but many of our older HP's don't.

Our printers have to handle printing from Unix through a Windows 2000 print server, and everything arrives at the printer without carriage returns.

Help !!!!

On those that don't have the capability you will have to change the printer type within unix to one that has the capability, or set the stty parameters for the port to add it before it leaves the box. Better to address this at the unix forum.
On my 3.2v4.2 I think it was a printer type onlcr and if I remeber correctly I had the same available on 5.0.4. Ed Fair
