Automatic Cloning Operation Fails

Hello everybody,

I’m running 2 full backups every Sunday with the cloning option turned on. The first full backup clones the save sets successfully, however the second full backup does not clone the save sets but displays the following lines on the savegroup completion message:

--- Cloned Save Sets ---

nsrclone: RPC error: Server can't decode arguments
nsrclone: Cannot open nsrclone session with mybackupserver
nsrclone: Failed to clone any save sets

The only workaround I have found so far is to start the cloning operation manually.

The first full backup runs at 00:05 and backups up 4 clients (2 Unix and 2 NT). The second full backup runs at 10:00 and backups up 15 clients (6 Unix and 9 NT).

I’m running NetWorker version 6.0.2.Build.251 over Sun Solaris 2.6 and the backup device used is a StorageTek L20 jukebox.

Thanks for your help.

It's not that your first cloning is running when the second kicks in, therefore taking up all of the drives that you have.

Check that the cloning has finshed before the second lot kicks off.

it might just simply be a timing thing. Regards
KeefB
