I can't figure out how to do this. But I want to set up a set of news letter templates. But I need to be able to enter the text and graphics in one template, and then, if that template ends up not being appropriate for the original template choice. I want to be able to choose a different one, but have the elements (at least the text) automatically flow into the new template... at least new column set up.

I know this is possible in Quark.... how can it be done in InDesign?

Can someone help guide me?

Thanks!

This can be done, not via templates, but via Masters. It's not hard but a bit long so it's best that you read up on Masters in Indesign help.

The basic skinny is that you set up diferent Masters (pages window/flyout/new master) and set is as desired, you cna setr as many as you wnat. Then you select any or all pages and Unaplly Master one and apply master 2, etc.

Using OSX 10.3.9 on a G4 & G5

and if you want the text to reflow activate the layout adjustment under the layout menu. But don't activate it when you are creating master pages
