The problem all started when I couldn't connect to the internet using my dial up connection. I thought I'd load another provider to give me options. I put the CD in and proceeded to install. The problem arose when trying to connect to the internet again. The phone number is no longer valid and I cancelled the install. Now whenever I open a browser window the provider on the CD has hijacked my connection and redirects me this old (no longer valid) phone number tires to dial up. No responce. cancel. shuts down the browser? The only way to connect is to have the waiting to connect browser open and open another window in the foreground. How can I get rid of this redirection?

Sorry if this is simple but I do not want to go around thr registry deleting stuff when I'm not competent.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Regards

Paul

Try looking at the connections tab in the Internet Explorer options - see if the new ISP has placed itself as default.

If it has, highlight the other ISP, and click the Set Default button

I can't see anything in the options. The only thing that keeps happening is that upon reboot my content manager re-enables itself?

My Computor > Dial-Up Netwoking , right click on all the connections ( ISP's ) & delete .

Double click on Make New Connection & your on the way .
