Right now our Partner system is setup so one person in every room's phone rings without a delay. When the phone rings and the person lifts the handset it automaticly answers the line thats ringing. Is there a way to disable this on that extension so she would have to manually select the line?

Only by setting to delayed or no ring, putting the phone in DND, or restricting access to the line through #302. So, none of those really solve the issue, cause either you can't hear the line ring, or you can't even access the line.

Touch the button you want before you pick up the handset.

Many Merlin systems have a setting for Ringing vs Idle line preference. When set to Idle, lifting the handset selects an idle line, even if one is ringing.

The index of the ACS Rel 6 manual teases us with an entry Ringing/Idle Line Preference (see Automatic Line Selection), but I don't believe this feature exists in Partner. Please consider adding it to the Rel 8 wishlist thread in this forum.

Hi jlshelton,
No, the feature doesn't exist in the Partner. My feelings would be to leave that feature as it is. The system programs quite naturally, and this is easy to understand (how to get or not get the ringing line). If we arn't careful, we will end up with a Magix and lose what we like about the Partner.
