I am looking to automate a video capture using quicktime, but am not sure which tool to use. Automator has the ability to create an application that will create a new capture and start and stop it. This can be used with Ical to schedule when this happens. The problem is that Automator has no versatility with its quicktime capture functions.

The other possible solutions that I have looked at are Applescript, Shellscript, and Cocoa. Applescript seems to be the simplest solution, but I cannot find documentation on how to send commands to quicktime, and what commands quicktime will accept. Any thoughts?

Thanks!
