I am creating a script that installs and configures new Dial Up Networking connection. The part I can't get is how to install the standard 19200 modem driver on Com1. I found this technet article but have had no success with this. 41

Is there an easy way to do this, or a third party program? Thanks!

It all depends on your O/S.

Technically, all your hardware should be installed prior to pushing any software to it.

The philosphy behind pushing software and configurations is that you've already have the hardware setup properly. You might want to take a step back and start by making sure your initial setups have all the necessary drivers for your machines. No yellow "!" in the Device Manager for example (Windows).

This is one of the many reasons that large companies stick to the same make and models of computers. Smaller companies tend to buy whatever is on sale or best bang for the buck, giving you bunch of hardware with no-name, imcompatible and obsolete items in them, which makes it almost impossible to find common ground when trying to create templates of some sort for hardware installations... this is why most smaller company admins end up using software's like Ghost or even worse.. just reinstall by hand...

Let me clarify a little. I am not adding any hardware. Let's assume Win 2000. The process where you go to the CP, Modems, Add, Select from list. Select Standard 19200 modem driver, on Com1, finish. Then the DUN creation script that I already have working comes along to utilize that modem driver. Just can't get the first step, which is to get the driver in there. Thanks.

Ok, you mean you want a default modem to be picked as the "19200 standard modem" without having to physically select it... I've never had to deal with that kind of issue so I'm afraid I don't have a clue... :-(
