Hi,

Can anyone tell me the following:

1. Is there any way of automatically logging off a users account, triggered on idle time. ie if the user has left the computer for 2minutes or more then log them off - returning control to the logon screen.
2. I want to start net logon when server boots. What is the syntax to automatically start a service on boot and in which file does it reside? I have a command line syntax of:
enable <servicename> <start_type>, e.g.:

enable net lgon Boot

Anyone any ideas

1) I believe this can be done via domain security polocies. I remember a setting to loggoff accounts after inactivity.

2) Unless I am misunderstanding you, this is performed in administrative tool/services. select your service, right click, go to properties, then there is an option to start manually, atomaticaly, or disable.

To BChenist,

Thanks for the advise, in reply to it:

1. I'll check out the 'inactivity' policy setting.

2. regards number 2. my problem is that when i set the net logon service to automatic, its doesnt trigger at boot up. Its a pain because log in is not possible until ne logon is running.

The computer is running as a DC on an autonomous subnet of a dozen computers. Its a simple setup and there should be no complexities. I thought of forcing the service to start by triggering it in a boot up .ini or batch file.

Thanks for your help
