I want to accomplish the following; boot from a CD with NW support, connect to a NW drive, get Win2k source files and then start an install. What is eluding me is this....

How can I get the first partition setup and formatted before beginning the setup? ie, I want the source files on the HDD, I assume the switch /makelocalsource (xp, not sure if it works on 2k) will get the files on the C: but how do I partition it and start the install without rebooting? I don't want the partition to take up the whole size of the drive either.

Thanks

What you can do is this.

Create a bootable cd with network support. Bart's cd and diskettes are good start

hen you have a dos prompt. Use a dos partition manager. fdisk or partition manager for dos.

Copy the windows files to local.

Then start the installation with an answer file

see the following link

Hope this helps
