Hello All,
I am new user to this forum. My Client wants to automate data entry process into excel where data is available in papers.
I've found there are some software which can do this process. But I am not sure which one is reliable?

Can anyone Please suggest me what is way to go?

I'll be very thankful.

Thanks,

You're going to have to provide more details, given this is urgent.

My Client wants to automate data entry process into excel where data is available in papers.

Explain the above. What is 'papers'?

Explain the above. All programs are generally 'reliable', so this shouldn't be an issue. If they work, they work.

Can anyone Please suggest me what is way to go?

Clarify exactly what you need, and maybe someone here can help you.

PS--is this somehow related to MS Access?

Thanks for the response. Here is description is details.

papers in the sense 'paper documents'.My client is going for computerization from manual process. Till now what ever data is there in paper format is to be converted to msaccess data.
Companies like datacap,..they provide software which automates data entry. But they are kind of little expensive.

So,..is there any other way I can work on this issue. It is like kind of brainstorm.

Ps help

I haven't done this in the past, but what you're looking at is scanning each paper document into a computerized image, then converting that image to some sort of text, then somehow importing that text into your specific Access table-format. I assume the paper forms are filled out by hand?

If so, then there are several pieces that get you from
paper->MS-Access.

Unfortunately, I only have experience with the text->Access part of the problem. Maybe someone else can chime in with a better answer than I. Even so, you're probably going to have to figure out the cost/benefits for yourself. Like, are there 100 paper documents or 10,000 or 10,000,000 or 100,000,000? How important is each document, i.e. what is the cost of making a mistake? How soon does this conversion have to happen?

I can't help you with the specifics of this. This is just too big a question, with too many ramifications.
