I use MS-Access to run various queries for various reports where some of the data is stored on an AS400. I currently make use of the Client Access ODBC driver to get access to the data. As to be expected I am often asked to authenicate my access to the AS400 libraies when I run these queries (Please note that this not always required which is due to, I assume, the way Client Access holds on to the connection.)

What I would like to know is there any simple way to automate the authentication process so that I can write MS-Access macros and other scripts that can run without human intervention?

After some research I found the following that is available if you have Client Access Express (R440 or later).

cwblogon systemname /u userid /p password

eg.: cwblogon 10.0.0.1 /u AUSER /p ROVER

Yours
