I am a new user with an existing Lucent Partner Advanced Communications System. The manuals I have been given are Issue 1 from December 1998.

I recently tried to change the message for callers since we have 2 new employees and extensions have changed. Somehow I have managed to save settings incorrectly. Now when someone calls in they may only press 0 for an operator.

I have tried to retrace my steps but cannot figure it out.

Any advice?

You changed the selector codes before you recorded the new menu.

You don't say what messaging system you have but probably you have to log on as administrator as you did before, press 9, choose auto attendents, choose the day menu, choose to change the menu. Here you will have the option to select a selector code and the dial zero timeout action and there is where you messed up. You should have pressed *# to skip over that and record the menu.

Go back in as above and this time change all the selector codes (1 thru 9) back to direct extension transfer if they are not already. I suspect you at least changed selector code #1 to something else.

Listen to the prompts after that to save the changes and exit without re-recording the menu.

Thank you. I will try it first thing in the morning. Yes, I do have to log in as the administrator. Hopefully I will figure out how to change the selector codes back. Thanks again!
