I am working with an organization that receives file updates (ASP, PDF, etc…) on a regular basis – usually daily and sometime more than once a day.

The vendor sends the files, usually in a zip, and we unzip them into a working directory. Once this is done, we manually check out each file that matches the zip file, copy the zip files in the working directory, check the files back in, and then check for adds before checking them back in.

It appears VSS has an object model (although I am unfamiliar with it) and I was wondering if anyone has ever done this (automate the updating of files) before or if you can steer me in the right direction.

I can work with VB, VB.NET, or VFP to connect.
