my users wil regulary have a zipped file which contains data that will need to be imported into access!

Does Anyone know how I can automate the process of unzipping this file from access so that the user has to do minimal work!

I know I can open up winzip from access using the shell command, but is there a way that the rest of the unzipping process can be automated more fully?

Any help and advice appreciated!

Cheers in advance....

This may not be quite what you mean but if you are using Winzip get the Winzip Self-extractor facility and setup self-extracting exe files. These are easy to open automatically and you can specify the location of where it's to be unzipped to, whether to overwrite automatically etc etc etc. Very useful tool for where you know your users systems etc and want them to have limited control over what they can do.

Hope this helps
