Is their anyway of creating a single click file that inserts all proxy server information into Internet Options to allow users to access the Internet via a proxy server in a corporate enviroment?

This would save our IT Technicians valuable time if this process could be automated and easily setup by ordinary users.

Any help appreciated, it would be interesting and time saving if this could be done.

Thanks

NW.

I'm assuming there is a corporate way to create a package or get the client's to merge something etc. As I understand it the values that configure the Internet proxy setup are located in this key.
To change which proxy server is used, modify 'ProxyServer' to equal the server and port combination.
If your proxy server is called \PROXYSERVER and its running on port 80 then the setting would equal 'PROXYSERVER:80'.
May also need to set the value of 'ProxyEnable' to equal '1' for proxy enabled or '0' for disabled.
Setting 'ProxyOverride' to equal '<local>' will stop internal addresses from going through the proxy.

Registry Settings
User Key: HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings
Values: ProxyServer, ProxyEnable, ProxyOverride
REG_SZ: (String Value)
Data: Server:port

Since it is an HKCU key then each one will have to do it. Make your changes manually and then check the registry to see if the changes are as expected. Find a packager to push it out or create an executable etc.
