I've downloaded the Daylight Saving Time OS patch as well as the Outlook DST patch from Microsoft & wanted to automate the installation to user's computers. I've never written any vbscripts but I do some VB and VBA coding.

I figured that I could come up with a script that would reside on a server, with the 2 patches to install, and be executed from each workstation.

The 2 patches would have to be run as administrator and with no user interaction.

Is this possible? Any guidance would be appreciated.

First, I would recommend WSUS for automated patching. Second, 99% of all MS patches that come out now have commandline switches for "quiet" installation. You do not need vbscript to do this. All you have to do is to run a gpo startup script and have it use a batch file that calls the patch located on a share. Its simple and would work.

Saying all that, I still think an automated patching system is necessary, and WSUS is free.
