Hi,
I have a set of laptops, some of which have an ATI video chipset. They are Dell model e1505.
I am trying to script the installation of the video drivers and have run into a hitch: the INF->right click->Install doesn't seem to work for this driver: it just fails silently. The driver installs correctly if I point device manager at the folder containing the INF install script and related files.
If I attempt to run the install from command using something like 'rundll32 SETUPAPI.DLL,InstallHinfSection ...' I get a popup that says 'Installation failed'.
Is there a way to script the process that Device Manager uses when I click 'Update Driver'->Search in Directory ?
Thanks,
Robert Carpenter
