Hi
I have an access db that contains projects to be completed by a certain time .I have a form that the user uses to enter the project details ie: project no, project leader, due date, completed y/n completed date.
also anothet table that contains all project leader names and email address's. Is there a way I can use notes to interrogate access and if a project is not completed dy the due date a predetermined mail message such as " you need to complete this project ASAP" is automatically sent to the project leader using the table containing his/her name & mail address.
Is there anywhere I can go to find out more about setting up applications of this kind using lotus notes,ie automailing/alerting using a database query.
Thanks for your time.

If you can configure an ODBC link to your access db, then Notes can read it.
If you want an automated task to take care of it, then the server has to have the ODBC link, and you'll have to design a scheduled agent to do the job - most likely in LotusScript.
In LScript, you have full control over almost all of Notes functionality, so creating and sending a mail with computed content is not an issue. It will take some effort, but it is possible.
You will definitely need help if you are a beginner in Notes design. Here there are many valuable people ready to answer specific questions, but for tutorials and such, I would recommend some other sites :

Good luck !
