autofs not cooperating

I am having trouble with my automount. I want to have server.example.com:/extra/common to mount on /common locally.

I did a showmount -e and the export is active. My auto.master looks as follows:

/common /etc/auto.common --timeout=60


and auto.common looks like

* -ro,soft,intr server.example.com:/extra/common/&

What does /var/log/messages say ?

Actually, I figured it out. I was leaving 1 letter out of the server name that was exporting the directory.
