Autofs and / listing

hi...

i have created an autofs map which mounts server:/abc on /xyz/abc. later on i created a softlink which links /xyz/abc to /abc

after doing so the automounter works fine when i can do
# cd /abc
however if i try to do
# ls /
the command hangs..

got any ideas why ?

Try strace ls / to see if you can get any clue about where it is getting stuck...

Does ls on its own work in that directory?
