Greetings,
I am currently creating an mpx file and importing it into Project. I am adding and customizing a number of columns (Cost1, Finish1, Finish2). To do this I am going to the column header and selecting "Insert Column" from the right-click menu.

I understand that MPX files cannot modify the default settings or appearance of a project. However, I would like to have project automatically insert and set these columns up in a specific way.

I have created a macro to do it but do not know how to get the macro to each of the project instances so they can run it.

Is there any way I can send a macro as a file, have the user open it up and run it. Or is there a way an MPX file can be told to run a macro?

Thanks in Advance

Just a suggestion (haven't tried it). Create a macro to the formatting and assign it to a button on the tool bar. Open your mpx file and, once loaded, click on the button. When the macro finishes you can save the new project.

You could get clever and link the macro to the project close event.

Unless you're busy migrating numerous projects from an older version of Project to P2000+, I'm guessing that the effort you'll expend developing the macro will be more than the effort you'd spend manually reformatting the imported projects.
