Hi,
Can anyone tell me the significance of the following AutoFix.exe logfile?
The optical drive in question is visible in Windows Explorer, opens a blank window when no media is inserted, appears in the Device Manager, and is reported to be "working correctly" in its Properties info.
However, when a CD or DVD is inserted, the drive locks up the system. +12-volts is rock-steady according to a voltmeter.
This happened just after installing some SATA drives, but it is still happening even after removing the SATA drives.
This optical drive works in another computer without locking it up.
What does this logfile mean? (The system locked up immediately after writing this logfile. The next time the system was booted, Windows had to "check one of (the) drives for consistency." That was the FAT32 partition on which the logfile was written.)
(For more information about this problem see this thread: thread779-1183694)
